Relining I Rebasing
What to do with an overly large denture?
To readjust dentures that have become "too big", two methods are used: relining and relining.
Relining consists of adding acrylic to the inside of the prosthesis to fill the space between the soft tissue and the dentures. This work can be done in a single step, directly during an appointment with the denturologist. In general, this technique makes it possible to correct a problem at an affordable cost and the service life of the repair is reasonable according to the maintenance that will be made of the prosthesis.
Relining, for its part, aims to completely replace the pink acrylic composing the prosthesis while retaining the teeth of the old prosthesis. Depending on the technique used, the process can be performed in a single day or require a few days.
